The symposium took place in the beautiful city of Amsterdam, drawing the attention of individuals from all corners of the globe. With a primary focus on the innovative topic of building with hemp, the event provided a unique platform for like-minded professionals and enthusiasts to come together and exchange their knowledge, experiences, and ideas.
The 11th International Hemp Building Symposium was held in Kanteen25, centrally located in Amsterdam across the water from the Nemo Museum, and situated on the thriving Marineterrein, Amsterdam. The symposium was a hybrid event with in-person and also online participation on the 10-11th October 2023. The event language was be English.
Site Visit
The annual visit, was Gemeentehuis Voorst, the town hall of the Voorst region. This large public building is significant for the retrofitting it underwent for energy efficiency and has undergone a remarkable transformation with the integration of a cutting-edge cast hempcrete thermal envelope.
