Monika has been involved in Hemp Building for over 22 years having started her Cannabric business in Spain in 1999, developing her unique hemp-clay bricks. This has also led to her becoming a leading Hempcrete researcher with several articles to her name. She has since 2014 been working in Morocco in the High Central Rif with local Berber peoples for the Adrah Nouh project, where the waste material from the Hashish production is being used to repair traditional stone houses and to build new ones. Adrar Nouh cooperative actually works on the design of a prototype hemp house of 90 m2, developed with Moroccan architectural students and international partners for the SOLAR DECATHLON AFRICA COMPETITION, the first one in the African continent, to be held in Morocco in September 2019.
